Technology and Design

Technology and Design is a subject that is enjoyed by both Key Stage Three and Four pupils. Pupils have a chance to leave down their pens and turn their drawings and ideas into real life, three dimensional objects that serve a purpose.
Various materials are used in the manufacturing process such as plastic, wood and metal. Pupils use various tools, machines and processes within the department to produce a desirable final product.

Key Stage Three Course

All Key Stage Three Technology and Design pupils are time-tabled for 4 x 40 minute classes per week. These classes cover the core curriculum. They can be broken down into the follow:

Presentation Work

Manufacturing Work
Which is workshop Based

Design Work
Includes drawing and computer based work

 

Theory
Covering electronics, pneumatics, mechanisms and computer control.
