Special Educational Needs
All Year 8 pupils are assessed in English and Maths when they first arrive at St. Brigid's. They are then taught in ability sets for those subjects. In all other subjects they are placed in all-ability classes where they follow the N.I. Curriculum. Some students need further help during their school career.
The Special Needs Co-ordinator, Miss Lyn McGuigan, and various external agencies combine to provide extra help as necessary. Parents are involved at all stages.
The help can take many forms - individual tuition, in-class support, working in small groups. The students enjoy the time spent receiving extra tuition and are encouraged by the improvement in their work.
