GCSE Learning for Life & Work
The study of this course will help young people to develop as contributors to society, the economy and the environment. As a basis for further study there are strong links with courses in: - Government and Politics, Home Economics, Health and Social Care and Travel and Tourism. It also provides a useful foundation for young people entering training programmes such as NVQs.
Students study 3 modules: -
Module 1 - Personal, Health and Social Education covers health and drugs education, relationships and sexuality and financial responsibility.
Module 2 - Local & Global Citizenship covers diversity and inclusion, equality and social justice and democracy in action.
Module 3 - Learning for Work covers work in the local and global economy, personal career planning, enterprise and entrepreneurship.
To achieve success in this GCSE students must complete the following: -
PHSE examination - 15%
Learning for Work examination - 15%
Local & Global Citizenship examination - 15%
Presentation Activity - 15%
Discussion Activity - 15%
Action Based Project - 35%
Total 100%
