Discipline & Pastoral Care
Each member of staff in their role as Form Teacher is responsible for a class of students and it is their responsibility to concern themselves with the personal welfare of the student in their charge. It is our intention that every boy is known well by his Form Teacher to ensure that small problems don't become large problems through neglect, and that we create a truly caring environment essential for the development of the self-esteem of boys in our care. We believe that high standards of behaviour should be adhered to by every student. The standard of behaviour that we expect is set out in our Code of Conduct.
At St. Brigid's we are building a caring, respectful, compassionate school in which every person feels accepted, valued and trusted. In such an environment bullying cannot be tolerated. Neither fighting nor smoking are tolerated and students are made aware that they may be suspended for these offences. Close co-operation between school and home ensures that problems are dealt with quickly and effectively.
The pastoral care provision is structured in the school as follows:
Vice-principal : Pastoral Care Co-ordinator.
Head of Year : Responsible for general welfare of all pupils of their group.
Form Teacher : Has particular responsibility for his/her form class. Responsible for the implementation of the Personal and Social Development Programme.
